Antimicrobial hand and surface sanitiser company Zoono (ASX: ZNO) has impressed investors yet again, with news its business-to-business sales had exceeded NZ$11 million (A$10.34 million) for April – boosted by increasing uptake in the UK and Europe.

New Zealand-headquartered Zoono noted the sales figures did not include online consumer sales which had been closed for all but the last seven days of the month due to “heavy demand”.

Additionally, Zoono has recently secured “a number of new distribution agreements” in the UK and Europe, including UK-based Rentokil Initial, Bunzl Health and Hygiene and Atalian Servest.

Zoono also stated the UK’s West Yorkshire Police were using its hand sanitiser and it had agreed to supply a further 140,000 50ml hand sanitiser units and refills to support the country’s front-line police officers.

Meanwhile, the London Underground as well as mainline trains in the UK and Germany are all being treated with Zoono’s surface sanitiser on a monthly basis.

In addition to the UK and Europe, Zoono achieved more than NZ$2 million in sales to companies in India, China and Hong Kong with a distributor in Hong Kong supply Zoono products and fogging services to the country’s airport authorities.

Initiatives to meet mounting demand

By late April, Zoono had reopened its online NZ store and outsourced packing and shipping of consumer orders to a third-party logistics company.

To further reduce consumer freight costs, Zoono plans to open a third party warehouse and distribution facility in Australia.

The company is also establishing plastic bottle manufacturing capabilities in NZ to reduce its reliance on imports.

“Zoono is well-placed to meet the continued demand for its Z-71 Microbe Shield surface sanitiser and hand sanitiser products,” the company stated.

Zoono antimicrobial products

Zoono’s sanitisers are developed using its antimicrobial technology which is long-lasting and environmentally friendly.

In Australia, Zoono received Therapeutic Goods Administration approval to amend its product packaging to include claims its Z-71 Microbe Shield Surface Sanitiser is an effective disinfectant for hard surfaces against COVID-19 as well as other germs and bacteria.

After independent testing, Zoono confirmed its sanitisers were 99.99% effective against COVID-19 in late February.
