Smart building material company ClearVue Technologies (ASX: CPV) has received its second technology certification approval this month after the EU approved its solar window product subject to European standards.

The certification is a mandatory approval for all manufacturers seeking to market their windows and doors in the EU.

Testing and certification were carried out by The Institute for Testing and Certification at Zlín in the Czech Republic through accredited test laboratory Intertek Testing Services in Shanghai China.

ClearVue says its products were certified as passed after being subjected to a wide range of rigorous tests to ensure product quality including resistance to wind load, water-tightness, air permeability and impact resistance.

“The testing and certification of the ClearVue window product for the European market means we can launch into key European markets with confidence that European window manufacturers and fabricators – ClearVue’s potential licensees, will themselves be confident that they can easily make and sell the ClearVue solar window product in their own markets,” said Victor Rosenberg, executive chairman of ClearVue Technologies.

Clearer picture

ClearVue operates in the Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) sector which involves incorporating solar technology into glass and building surfaces to produce renewable energy.

The company’s “smart building material” patented technology was jointly developed with leading experts from the Electron Science Research Institute at Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth and consists of a glass lamination interlayer doped with inorganic micro and nano-particles.

In order to maximise its consumer market sales, ClearVue is sequentially obtaining the required industry accreditation in Australia, Europe and the US.

Today’s EU certification represents an important milestone as part of the company’s broader ambition to become fully certified in all major markets.

ClearVue said that it continues its Australian ‘AS 4284’ testing and certification on its glass curtain wall product with results expected sometime in August 2018. Meanwhile, ClearVue’s US testing and certification are expected to commence in Q4 of this year.
