Unity Metals (ASX: UM1) has identified multiple new gold drill targets at its O’Phlay gold project in Cambodia after integrating magnetic susceptibility and structural measurements from drill core with airborne magnetic data.

The work links the broad stockwork gold mineralisation previously drilled at the Camp prospect to a distinct demagnetised zone within a major north-east to east-north-east trending magnetic anomaly.

Further analysis of the magnetic data has highlighted more than six kilometres of similarly oriented magnetic anomalies across the northern end of a major diorite intrusion, with several interpreted demagnetised zones coinciding with historical workings and geochemical anomalies.

Unity plans an initial 10 holes at the Small Creek and Toulsroloav prospects early in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by a further 10 holes across Camp and other magnetic and geochemical targets.

The company expects trenching results from the Ngot and O’Phlay projects next week, assays from two further Camp diamond holes in mid-to-late September, and a restart of diamond drilling at O’Phlay in early October.

Camp Model Sharpens Targeting

Camp has returned broad intersections including 70.4 metres at 1.1 grams per tonne gold from 195m and 40m at 1.9g/t gold from 82m, with the mineralised zone interpreted to extend from surface to at least 230m depth.

Unity estimates the zone has a true width of about 45m to 50m, dips steeply south-east, and remains open at depth, while its lateral orientation appears to follow the north-east to east-north-east trend.

The key targeting clue is the sharp magnetic contrast between altered and mineralised diorite at Camp and surrounding unaltered rock, with the former averaging almost 40 times lower magnetic susceptibility.

Unity interprets this reduction as the effect of hydrothermal alteration and magnetite destruction associated with emplacement of the stockwork gold mineralisation, giving the company a geophysical signature it can now seek elsewhere at O’Phlay.

New Prospects Enter Drill Queue

At Toulsroloav, about 800m west-north-west of Camp, the project’s largest historical open pits sit above an interpreted east-north-east-trending demagnetised zone within a sizeable magnetic high, while earlier rock chip sampling returned gold values up to 28.5g/t.

Small Creek, 1.8km south-west of Camp, contains O’Phlay’s only historical underground workings and several open pits, with previous rock chip results up to 37.1g/t gold and distinct interpreted demagnetised areas close to the workings.

Unity plans five holes at each prospect, targeting both the known high-grade vein mineralisation and the surrounding stockwork potential, while two additional holes are planned about 200m south-south-west of Camp to test another 300m-long interpreted demagnetised zone.

“The contrast between our magnetic susceptibility readings in altered and mineralised drill core and the surrounding unaltered and unmineralised core is pronounced,” managing director Craig Mackay said.

“The demagnetised zones within these magnetic anomalies offer very exciting exploration targets for the discovery of more stockwork gold mineralisation.”
