Resolution Minerals Expands Strike Length at Horse Heaven’s Golden Gate South Target

Key points

  • RML expands Golden Gate South; strike >1.5 km, gold.

  • 2 of 3 maiden holes show broad mineralisation; North.

  • May drilling to extend North/South; test tungsten.

Resolution Minerals (ASX: RML) has made a new gold discovery at the Golden Gate South target within its Horse Heaven gold-antimony-tungsten-silver project, with near-surface mineralisation extending the system’s strike length beyond 1.5 kilometres.

Two out of three maiden holes drilled at the southern end of the Golden Gate Fault Zone encountered broad intervals of mineralisation, expanding the system beyond the established Golden Gate North deposit.

While the two deposits are connected by a prominent ridge with a very close spatial association between the gold mineralisation, the company said there is limited surface evidence at present to suggest Golden Gate South and Golden Gate North form one deposit.

Further drilling will be needed to determine whether the mineralisation at each prospect is continuous or forms two parallel gold systems.

Surface Rock Samples

Two of Resolution’s drill holes targeted gold anomalies identified from surface rock samples in a vein system collected along the Golden Gate access road and were associated with a CSAMT geophysical anomaly that follows the northern projection of a vein system.

The third hole followed up on intercepts identified in historic holes associated with a low-resistivity CSAMT anomaly.

Significant intersections were 172.2 metres at 0.464 grams per tonne gold including 27.6m at 0.89g/t and 225.5m at 0.14g/t gold, ending in mineralisation.

Near-surface tungsten mineralisation was also intersected in multiple shallow veins, reinforcing Horse Heaven’s multi-commodity upside.

Resolution is now planning an upscaled drilling program at Golden Gate to commence in May, with a focus on expanding the gold discoveries at Golden Gate North and Golden Gate South.

Substantial Strike Length

“This discovery materially expands the Golden Gate gold system and confirms the presence of multiple mineralised shear zones over a substantial strike length,” chief executive officer of US operations Craig Lindsay said.

“With the mineralisation open in all directions and drilling returning broad, near-surface intercepts, Golden Gate is rapidly emerging as a highly significant discovery.”

“The interval lengths and grades on holes assayed to date, along with the fact that mineralisation continues over such a long strike length, make us very excited to continue drilling here and target establishment of a maiden JORC-compliant mineral resource,” he added.

Future drilling will also test for tungsten mineralisation in an area adjacent to the historical Golden Gate tungsten mine and south along the Golden Gate Fault, where extensive soil sampling previously identified a tungsten anomaly.
