Zenith Minerals ASX ZNC massive copper zinc sulphide drill chips Develin Creek Queensland

Zenith Minerals will complete ground based electromagnetic surveying at Snook to assist with firming up drill targets prior to follow up drilling.

Copied

Diversified explorer Zenith Minerals (ASX: ZNC) has intersected near surface sulphides in four drill holes at its Develin Creek project in Queensland.

These massive and semi-massive sulphides were hit at the Snook prospect, which was the first of eight targets to be drilled.

In July, the company confirmed high-grade copper and zinc zones with gold and silver in massive sulphides at the Sulphide City prospect.

The results then included Hole 002 which returned 29m at 2.3% copper, 1.2% zinc, 0.3 grams per tonne gold and 4.2g/t silver.

Assays from Hole 003 showed 34m at 2% copper, 1.5% zinc, 0.2g/t gold and 4.9g/t silver.

Zones up to 22m thick

The four holes at Snook hit sulphide zones ranging up to 22m in thickness.

Massive copper-zinc sulphides were intersected in two holes with intervals of 2m to 3m thick.

Mineralisation remains open with the target sequence extending along strike for “multiple” kilometres, north and south.

Zenith adds that drilling confirms a “fertile” volcanogenic massive sulphides (VMS) system is present at Snook.

Chairman Peter Bird said VMS systems can be very high value.

“The results to date confirm the pervasive nature of the system at Develin Creek.”

“We are very keen to add copper inventory to our existing resource base,” Mr Bird added.

Develin Creek drilling progressing

Meanwhile, the 40 hole program at Develin Creek is progressing with rigs drilling at Sulphide City, which lies in the northern part of the project area.

Located 80km north‐west of Rockhampton in central Queensland, the Develin Creek base metals project is described by the company as hosting several copper-zinc-gold-silver volcanic hosted massive sulphide deposits and covers an extensive belt of underexplored prospective host rocks.

Mineralisation comprises massive sulphide, stringer and breccia style copper-zinc-gold-silver deposits, hosted by basalts.

Zenith says its deposits are of a style similar to those currently being mined by Sandfire Resources (ASX: SFR) at DeGrussa and Independence Group (ASX: IGO) at Jaguar-Bentley in Western Australia.
