Asia-Pacific road transport software solutions company Yojee (ASX: YOJ) has strengthened its executive team with key management and board appointments.

The company has promoted chief product and technology officer Mark Connell to the role of chief executive officer and director, effective immediately.

Mr Connell has 30 years of experience in the logistics and technology industries and brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role, which will focus on critical areas such as customer sales, engagement and adoption to ensure Yojee’s continued growth in the market.

His skills are expected to be integral to executing the company’s strategy of commercialising its transport management solution in the Asia-Pacific region and driving the development of new products.

Immediate handover

Mr Connell will replace Darren Palfrey, who will step down from the chief executive role immediately.

Mr Palfrey has been instrumental in the company’s recapitalisation strategy, strengthening revenue, product offerings and customer engagement across the Asia-Pacific.

His contributions have also been considered critical to Yojee’s corporate activities.

Mr Palfrey will continue supporting Yojee as a consultant to the board of directors.

Chief revenue officer

Yojee has appointed Shane D’Aprile to the role of chief revenue officer, effective next month.

Mr D’Aprile has 25 years’ experience in operations, sales, change management and leadership roles in logistics industries within the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2013, he founded a globally-respected technology services and consultancy firm to help logistics providers optimise operations and revenues through freight and transport management software adoption.

In his new role, Mr D’Aprile will oversee all revenue-generating activities at Yojee and apply his experience to new product developments.

His addition to the team is believed to be a strategic move to expand commercial opportunities with global customers in the Asia-Pacific and grow Yojee’s presence in Australia and New Zealand.

Board advisor

Yojee has engaged technology veteran George Barnett to advise its board of directors on technology strategy and development.

Mr Barnett’s experience includes working for industry leaders in online travel marketplaces and playing a pivotal role in the architecture of cloud systems for Australian-US software giant Atlassian.

He is currently commissioned in a supporting role for Atlassian’s merger and acquisition activities in Sydney.

Positioned for success

Yojee chair Shannon Robinson welcomed the new appointments.

“I am pleased to announce these changes to our executive leadership team as we embark on the next phase of growth for Yojee,” he said.

“These strategic appointments and transitions follow successful corporate activities in previous quarters and position us for success in the dynamic Asia-Pacific logistics technology industry.”
