Western Australia-based Wide Open Agriculture (ASX: WOA) has formalised a long-standing partnership with fellow WA company My Foodie Box (ASX: MBX) to develop an exclusive range of “ready to eat” products and expand into the eastern states market.

My Foodie Box is a meal kit provider that focuses on offering premium WA-based fresh produce, with free range meat that is ethically farmed and absent of added hormones.

Much of this produce is already sourced from Wide Open’s regeneratively farmed Dirty Clean Food brand.

Under the partnership, Wide Open’s Dirty Clean Food brand will collaborate with My Foodie Box on developing new products – focussing on creating commercial lines with Dirty Clean Food’s plant-based Buntine Protein, which is manufactured from WA-grown sweet lupins.

The meal kits will also include Dirty Clean Food’s oat milk, which is the world’s first regeneratively farmed and carbon neutral product of its kind.

Both companies will also undertake co-promotional activities.

Dirty Clean Food chief executive officer Jay Albany said the company was “thrilled” to increase its relationship with My Foodie Box to include its plant-based products.

He said it was a significant milestone for Wide Open and its Dirty Clean Food brand.

“My Foodie Box has been an incredible partner to Dirty Clean Food since its inception.”

“Our companies are aligned in values, sustainability, and a commitment to making it as convenient as it’s ever been for consumer to access premium quality food you can feel good about eating,” Mr Albany added.

Eastern states expansion

As part of the agreement, Dirty Clean Food will collaborate with My Foodie Box as it expands into the eastern states – with New South Wales to be the first market.

Wide Open noted the collaboration offers Dirty Clean Food the platform to sell its meat products into the region.

Meanwhile, My Foodie Box chief executive officer Mai Hughes said the partnership ensures My Foodie Box has access to Dirty Clean Food products to support its expansion plans.

“The agreement is expected to generate marketing and distribution synergies for both companies as they expand their brands nationally,” Wide Open stated.
