Tietto Minerals reports new high-grade intercepts at Abujar gold project
West African gold explorer and developer Tietto Minerals (ASX: TIE) has added more high-grade gold intercepts from infill drilling at the AG Core target within the Abujar project in Côte d’Ivoire.
The latest batch of assays was returned from 18 diamond holes for 2,346 metres. The program is targeting the delineation of measured resources expected to be mined during the first two years of production.
Drilling intersected good widths and grades with the new results increasing the AG Core tally to 77 intervals greater than 50 gold gram metres, including 14 intervals greater than 200 gold gram metres.
Best results were 8.68m at 27.61 grams per tonne gold from 84.3m, including 2.10m at 112.73g/t from 85.4m, including 1.03m at 54.69g/t and 1.07m at 168.6 g/t; 12m at 12.39g/t gold from 251m, including 3m at 31.89g/t; 15m at 5.79g/t gold from 55m, including 6m at 13.2g/t; 14m at 4.07g/t gold from 38m, including 1m at 46.1g/t; and 14m at 3.47g/t gold from 26m, including 5m at 8.97g/t.
Assays are still pending for 108 infill holes over 15,580m drilled at AG South and AG Core.
High-grade assays
Managing director Dr Caigen Wang said the new results would add to high-grade assays already received.
“I am pleased to report more shallow high‐grade mineralisation from our infill drilling on 25m line spacing at AG Core as part of a small, targeted program to allow for further increases to measured resource in a resource update later this year,” he said.
“Once this program is completed, our rigs will move to the main Abujar Shear, which is still largely untested, and undertake new resource definition drilling.”
Fully-funded to production
Tietto remains fully-funded to production at the Abujar project.
The project has the potential to become one of the largest gold mines in Côte d’Ivoire, with an expected output of more than 260,000 ounces in the first year and 1.2 million ounces of gold across the first six years.
Mr Wang said the company has an experienced team on board to deliver Abujar in time for first gold pour later this year.
