Tambourah Metals (ASX: TMB) has added highly experienced geologist and mining executive William (Bill) Clayton to its board as it prepares for a busy period of exploration in Western Australia.

Mr Clayton, previously a geology manager with the company, has been named a director.

He brings 30 years of experience as a geologist with a strong background in WA and was the founder and managing director of the successful gold and base metals explorer Lodestar Minerals (ASX: LSR).

Exploration success

Mr Clayton has been directly involved in discoveries across multiple commodities throughout Australia and East Africa.

“The board is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Clayton as a non-executive director,” executive chair Rita Brooks said.

“His experience in all aspects of discovery, exploration and development in junior exploration companies will be an asset as we develop our gold projects.”

“Bill has made a great contribution to the development of the company since he joined in 2023 as geology manager.”

Upcoming DD program

The Tambourah gold field contains more than 20 historic gold mines and prospects over 3 kilometres of strike.

The upcoming 2,500m diamond drill (DD) program at the site will focus on testing the depth/strike extensions at the World’s Fair and Federal prospects for different types of gold mineralised systems.

Tambourah believes the new drill targets at World’s Fair represent intrusion-related gold systems defined by electromagnetic survey.

The program is being supported by a $75,000 grant provided by the WA government.

Cheela drilling

Reverse circulation drilling is also planned for Q4 at the company’s Cheela prospect, targeting historic gold intersections.

Recent drilling by Tambourah confirmed shallow gold with 5m at 1.1 grams per tonne from 33m, including 1.0m at 2.85 g/t.

The company also plans to extend the known soil geochemistry along the strike of the Nanjilgardy Fault system, targeting gold-in-soil anomalies related to structural displacement.

Tin and REE search

Tambourah will continue its search for tin and rare earth elements (REE) at Coondina with field mapping and sampling of historic workings and pegmatites.

Tambourah is also looking for tin opportunities at Shaw River that will include an assessment of the historical tin-producing prospects and residual dumps.

The company is undertaking geological and geochemical interpretation of recent drilling at the Julimar North project and simultaneously awaiting the results of an airborne magnetic survey recently acquired by partner SQM.
