Tambourah Metals (ASX: TMB) has received high-grade antimony, silver and copper assays from rock samples it collected in a new exploration program at the company’s Speewah Nth project in Western Australia.

Tambourah collected a total of 35 rock samples of outcrop and float comprising quartz vein and gossanous material from areas within the 6-kilometre-long Chapman–Catto’s trend.

Seven of the samples reported significant copper from around 0.1% to a maximum 3.12%, with associated silver up to 512 parts per million and antimony grades up to 4.54%.

Historical Sampling

The samples confirm historical results from surface programs at the Chapman–Catto’s corridor that focussed on copper and gold exploration.

The program was Tambourah’s first exploration activity at Speewah Nth, which covers an area of 181 sq km in the northern half of the Speewah Dome.

Tambourah plans to use follow-up outcrop mapping and sampling over the eastern margin of the Speewah Dome to identify additional antimony-silver prospects in preparation for drilling.

The Speewah Nth tenement sits 4km from Tivan’s (ASX: TVN) Speewah Fluorite deposit, which has received major project status and was recently in the news after Sumitomo Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to acquire 22% of the project.

Antimony the Primary Focus

The positive results and the recent leap in prices from US$12,000 per tonne to US$60,000/t has led the company to make antimony its priority exploration target at Speewah Nth.

“We are very pleased with the high antimony, silver and copper results from our initial sampling that have confirmed and identified new areas for further work within the Chapmans–Catto corridor,” executive chair Rita Brooks said.

“The company [has] identified untested antimony-silver targets during the data review and these will be incorporated into our exploration program as the company advances towards drilling.”
