Tambourah Metals extends strike at Tambourah King gold lode with latest drilling success

Tambourah Metals (ASX: TMB) continues to grow its promising Tambourah gold project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The company’s latest reverse circulation drilling program targeted the high-grade Tambourah King lode system, one of 20 prospects comprising the historic Tambourah gold field.
All 11 holes in the 879-metre program intersected the targeted structure with the consistently elevated gold associated with sulphides and quartz veining.
Extensions targeted
The program was targeting extensions to the Tambourah King high-grade gold mineralisation, where previous results had a highlight of 2.65m at 32.3 grams per tonne from 58.35m including 1.05m at 77g/t from 59.05m.
The latest drilling has extended significant gold mineralisation at Tambourah King over a strike distance of 200m, with highlight results including 3m at 2.99g/t from 36m and 2m at 3.68g/t from 47m.
The company has commenced preparations for its proposed testing of priority gold targets at Tambourah Gold, which it will conduct with the support of up to $180,000 in WA government co-funding under the Round 30 EIS drilling grant program.
Broad gold mineralisation
Executive chair Rita Brooks said the structure remains open to the north and south, with the program demonstrating significant gold mineralisation over a strike distance of 200m to a vertical depth of 70m.
“We’re pleased with these results that have continued to identify extensions to the Tambourah King gold mineralisation [and] are now preparing the next part of the drill program to confirm and model a preliminary inferred gold resource,” Ms Brooks said.
The company continues to develop the exploration model at the Tambourah field, completing geological mapping and geochemical sampling over multiple gold prospects.
New prospects
Two of the potential targets include the undrilled Alexandria and Young Australian prospects, located just to the south-east of Tambourah King.
The company will use recently acquired data to refine its drill targets for the upcoming program.
The Tambourah gold field is located 85km south-west of Marble Bar and comprises a series of shallow workings developed on north-south oriented quartz lodes over 3km of strike.
