Superior Resources (ASX: SPQ) has reported excellent rock chip results from the Halls Reward and Telegraph prospects at its Greenvale project in northeast Queensland’s Ordovician Macquarie Arc, dubbed the “Lucky Creek Corridor”.

The results confirm the presence of exceptionally high-grade copper with significant gold and silver credits, reinforcing Halls Reward and Telegraph as priority volcanogenic massive sulphide targets.

Superior increased Greenvale’s project area by 56% to 3,602 square kilometres earlier this month with four new exploration permits.

Comprehensive Program Conducted

The results include outstanding grades of 46.5% copper, 6.58 grams per tonne gold, and 24.5g/t silver, as well as 18.82% copper, 4.59g/t gold, and 56.3g/t silver, from a sampling campaign at Halls Reward.

Returns from reconnaissance mapping and sampling at nearby Telegraph, just 3km to the northwest, included 10.99% copper, 0.21g/t gold, and 12g/t silver, along with 10.91% copper, 0.14g/t gold, and 10g/t silver.

Historical drill holes and soil copper geochemistry indicate at least 1.1km of unmined extensions across the Halls Reward lode, including 4.0m at 8.8% copper from 31.6m.

While the Greenvale district has a rich history of artisanal copper production, it remains underexplored by modern techniques.

Compelling Copper-Gold-Silver Targets

“These outstanding results confirm Halls Reward and Telegraph as highly compelling copper-gold-silver targets within our Greenvale project,” managing director Peter Hwang said.

“The tenor of copper grades – up to 46.5% with multi-gram gold and significant silver – places these prospects among our priority high-grade targets.”

Superior believes the prospects provide a dual focus of high-grade targets, alongside the large-scale porphyry systems at Bottletree and Cockie Creek, and demonstrate the district-scale potential of Greenvale as a copper-gold project of significance.

The company is now preparing for follow-up geochemical sampling along strike of the historical workings, as well as electromagnetic geophysics to model conductors at depth to define additional copper-gold-silver drilling targets.
