Riversgold (ASX: RGL) has enlarged the shallow gold mineralisation associated with its Kalgoorlie East project with the latest results from drilling at the site’s Northern Zone porphyry.

Vertical aircore drilling of 32 holes for a total of 1,805 metres has intersected the mineralised host porphyry over an increasing footprint and consistently validated the broader gold mineralisation model.

All holes on the eastern extension intersected significant mineralisation and returned some of the highest gold grades yet seen at the project.

Best aircore assays

Best assays were 10m at 8.89 grams per tonne gold from 46m including 1m at 77.96g/t from 54m and 7m at 3.14g/t gold from 47m including 1m at 18.35g/t from 50m.

Other results featured 5m at 1.26g/t gold from 46m including 2m at 2.74g/t from 49m, 12m at 0.80g/t gold from 32m and 2m at 11.97g/t gold from 34m.

Riversgold expects to complete assaying of an additional 414 samples from 11 drill holes in the near term.

Continued progress

Riversgold chair David Lenigas said the company was encouraged by the continued progress at Kalgoorlie East.

“We keep delivering great results and everything is going to plan as we expand the mineralised footprint of this project and define the high-grade gold zone hosted within a large lower-grade porphyry host,” he said.

“The assays meet and exceed our expectations and we believe the 11 holes that are in the lab awaiting assay will continue the consistent news flow as we advance Kalgoorlie East towards a maiden resource estimate and mining lease approval.”

Reverse circulation results

Riversgold reported wide and high-grade gold assays last week from 11 reverse circulation holes at Kalgoorlie East.

The holes intersected the mineralised host porphyry over an increasing footprint within the tenement, with highlights of 11m at 1.38g/t gold from 80m and 12m at 0.25g/t gold from 69m.

The company is still awaiting assays of approximately 1,300 samples from a 32-vertical-drill-hole program targeting oxide mineralisation.

Mr Lenigas said Riversgold would update the dynamic gold model for the Northern Zone using Leapfrog Geo software with the latest results to inform and guide future drill campaigns.
