Resource Base hits gold-silver-zinc mineralisation in Victoria

Diversified explorer Resource Base (ASX: RBX) revealed aircore drilling at its Black Range project in Victoria has intersected gold-silver-zinc sulphide mineralisation at the Callisto prospect, just 2km from the company’s Eclipse-Nebula main target.
Eclipse-Nebula is prospective for copper, gold and zinc.
Black Range lies within the highly prospective Stavely Volcanics corridor, 50km south of the western Victorian city of Horsham.
The 124 square kilometre Black Range project is in what Resource Base describes as Victoria’s premier porphyry and VHMS (volcanic-hosted massive sulphide) target district.
The Mount Stavely volcanic complex in western Victoria captures three fault-band segments of volcanics over a strike length of about 55km.
‘Highly encouraging’ results to be followed up
Resource Base executive chairman and chief executive officer Shannon Green said the company is very encouraged with these initial early-stage results.
“The discovery of gold-silver-zinc sulphide mineralisation approximately 2m south of Eclipse-Nebula mineralisation demonstrates the scale potential of the Black Range project.”
Mr Green added that further low-cost geophysics and reverse circulation drilling will be undertaken in due course.
The geophysics programs will be carried out during the winter and spring seasons with the aim of generating specific drill targets.
Drilling it scheduled to take place during the summer once the ground has dried up enough to allow rigs to be brought in without damage to ground surface or flowering native plants.
Rare earths ground continues to expand
Earlier this week, Resource Base announced it had extended its tenement package for the Mitre Hill rare earth element project, which straddles the Victoria-South Australia border.
The company lodged a further five exploration licence applications covering an additional 2,230 square kilometres.
The new applications lie on the Victorian side of the project, which also extends into South Australia.
With these new exploration licences, Mitre Hill covers 4,830sq km of ground – giving Resource Base the second largest land position in the southern margin of the Murray Basin.
