Resolution Minerals ASX RML airborne geophysical surveys 64North gold targets

Resolution Minerals expects results from the airborne geophysical surveys over 64North in two weeks.

Exploration at Resolution Minerals’ (ASX: RML) 64North project is rapidly advancing with airborne geophysical surveys now underway and results anticipated in two weeks.

Meanwhile, drilling is ongoing at the Aurora prospect with hole four underway and 1,410m completed out of a minimum 2,300m program.

This current hole is where high-grade rock chips had been collected from surface that assayed up to 13.85 grams per tonne.

Once data from the airborne geophysical surveys is at hand, Resolution will use it to firm up new drill targets and refine existing ones.

One of the geophysical surveys is a Z-Axis Tipper Electromagnetic System (ZTEM) which can be used to map subsurface resistivity and conductivity.

According to Resolution, ZTEM can penetrate conductive cover that often causes interference in other electromagnetic systems.

The ZTEM can also penetrate to depths beyond 1km and Resolution claims it is excellent for discriminating subtle resistivity contrasts.

Meanwhile, heliborne magnetic survey data will be used to pinpoint the likely structural controls across the project.

Northern Star Resources’ adjacent Pogo mine

What Resolution is seeking at 64North is mineralisation similar to Northern Star Resources’ (ASX: NST) adjacent Pogo 6 million ounce gold mine and Goodpaster discovery.

Due to the similarity of mineralisation between 64North and Goodpaster, Resolution noted it would be collecting data from Goodpaster to allow direct comparison between the discovery and the company’s ground.

64North surrounds the Pogo mine which has produced 4Moz of gold at an average grade of 13.6g/t and continues to generate about 300,000oz of gold annually.

Northern Star’s Goodpaster discovery is 2.3km along strike of Pogo and remains open in all directions.

Resolution’s 64North tenements are along strike and immediately adjacent to Goodpaster.

Resolution’s priority gold targets

Drilling is underway at the Aurora prospect, which has host rocks, surface geochemistry, structures and a geophysical signature similar to Goodpaster and Pogo.

The prospect target area is 2km by 5km.

Directly down dip of Goodpaster is Resolution’s other high priority prospect Echo.

Following airborne surveys, Resolution plans to begin drilling Echo next month.
