In the two drilling stages, Recharge Metals will complete 4,000m across Brandy Hill South.

Recently listed junior explorer Recharge Metals (ASX: REC) has commenced a two-stage drilling program at the Brandy Hill South copper-gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison region.

The first stage will comprise eight reverse circulation drill holes designed to test continuity of mineralisation, extensions along strike and to verify previous assay results from the historic development to a depth of 150m.

The second will test the down-dip extent of mineralisation to 250m and is scheduled to commence next month.

In total, the program will complete 21 holes for approximately 4,000m (2,000m in each stage).

Last week, Recharge announced it had secured Impact Drilling Services to complete the program using a slimline rig.

Murchison location

The Brandy Hill South project is located within the Archaean Gullewa greenstone belt in the Murchison province of the Yilgarn Craton.

The project spans 100 square kilometres and is 58km from Yalgo.

It is also only 18km from Silver Lake Resources’ (ASX: SLR) Deflector gold and copper operation.

The main structure is the Salt Creek Shear which trends north-south and deforms the belt on a regional scale.

Cross-cutting northeast and northwest faults are secondary, with Riedal structures occurring between parallel faults.

Managing director Brett Wallace said drilling would allow the company to target quartz‐sulphide, vein‐hosted, copper‐gold mineralisation.

Past intersections

Significant past intersections at Brandy Hill South were 75m at 0.55% copper, which finished in mineralisation, including 23m at 1.29% copper, 3.4 grams per tonne silver and 300 parts per million wolfram (tungsten), within a highly-altered dolerite with quartz veining and abundant sulphides of massive pyrite and microcrystalline chalcopyrite stringers.

Other results were 12m at 1.10% copper, 14.9g/t silver and 0.22g/t gold, including a strong gold-copper-silver-platinum-palladium zone assaying 1m at 2.15g/t gold, 112g/t silver and 2.10% copper; and 16m at 0.48% copper including 3m at 1.47% copper, 8.7g/t silver and 445 ppm wolfram.

Recharge also owns the Hyden copper-nickel-cobalt project and the Bohemia copper-lead-zinc project, both in WA.
