The September quarter marked a pivotal period for NoviqTech (ASX: NVQ) as it officially expanded the reach of its innovative Carbon Central environmental monitoring platform into the growing semiconductor industry.

The platform operates as a software-as-a-service product that enables companies to streamline projects by managing and tracking their carbon emissions and claiming Guarantee of Origin certificates for green fuels and resources.

As well as offering cost efficiencies through advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven energy management, Carbon Central’s guarantee of origin feature provides a strategic advantage by enabling full traceability and transparency.

Premier solution

The expansion into the semiconductor space is believed to position Carbon Central as a premier solution for companies seeking to redefine their environmental impact while gaining a competitive edge.

“In order to stand out in the rapidly evolving semiconductor landscape, this level of environmental accountability is critical, especially in building trusted partnerships with eco-conscious customers and investors,” NoviqTech said.

“Carbon Central opens access to lucrative carbon markets, unlocking new revenue streams through carbon credit trading and allowing semiconductor companies to monetise their sustainability efforts while accelerating their path to net-zero emissions.”

AI update

During the quarter, NoviqTech enhanced Carbon Central with key updates focused on AI, tokenisation, digital twin capabilities and the expansion of supported environmental templates.

Google Gemini’s AI technology was integrated into the product in July, introducing a chatbot to enhance user interactions by providing real-time support and navigation assistance.

Future updates will extend the chatbot’s functionality, enabling users to perform key tasks such as adding projects and inviting team members directly through the AI interface.

Other enhancements

New digital twin capabilities have introduced complex multi-step calculations featuring conditional logic and shared data across digital twin steps to support enhanced integration opportunities such as a live grid emissions data feed.

The Trust Chain viewer was also upgraded to offer a more intuitive and comprehensive view of full token provenance, allowing users to view token data by project, batch and device.

“We remain committed to delivering continuous enhancements to our core product to reinforce its position as a leading platform for carbon management and tokenisation solutions,” NoviqTech said.

Recycling agreement

NoviqTech signed a commercial agreement with Global Resource Recovery (GRR) in August to monitor the recycling of spent glycol and amines at GRR’s Darwin facility.

GRR will leverage Carbon Central’s digital twin capabilities to track recycling processes and create source verification certificates for each batch of chemicals processed.

NoviqTech executives have since visited the Darwin facility to finalise the technical specifications needed to bring GRR’s operations live within the Carbon Central platform in the coming weeks.

Turquoise hydrogen deal

In September, NoviqTech signed a deal with BPH Energy (ASX: BPH) investee company Clean Hydrogen Technologies (CHT) to integrate Carbon Central’s Guarantee of Origin tracking system into the production of turquoise hydrogen (hydrogen produced without carbon dioxide emissions).

CHT will integrate NoviqTech’s real-time monitoring system to capture data on hydrogen production, feeding into the creation of verifiable certificates that support global clean energy goals.

“We have continued to further enhance the turquoise hydrogen use case in Carbon Central as part of the modelling phase, exploring standards and tracking methods that can optimise the tracking process across the USA and India,” NoviqTech said.

“We are excited about this partnership and its potential to drive significant advancements in sustainable hydrogen solutions.”
