Norfolk Metals will complete more geophysics surveys at Roger River to further refine drill targets.

Copied

Following its ASX debut earlier this month, Norfolk Metals (ASX: NFL) has identified several distinct anomalies from a gravity survey across its Roger River gold project in Tasmania.

The company has received the data from a gravity field program that was based on a 400m by 50m grid over a 26 square kilometre granted permit.

This data has been combined with regional airborne magnetics and soil sampling results to refine drill targets.

Norfolk has also engaged Atlas Geophysics to fly an aeromagnetic drone survey early next month.

It is expected this survey will take 10 days to complete, with results to further assist with honing drill targets.

Norfolk is also considering completing an induced polarisation survey to identify sulphide conductors at depth.

In parallel with geophysics programs, Norfolk is securing requisite drill permits and engaging contractors to kick-off the maiden drilling campaign at Roger River.

Norfolk ASX debut

Norfolk made its way onto the ASX last Tuesday after raising $5.5 million via the issue of 27.5 million shares at $0.20 each.

The company is exploring for gold at Roger River, which comprises one granted exploration licence and one under application.

Roger River is located in Tasmania’s northwest and is about 410km from Hobart.

The project can be access via a sealed road and the maiden drilling campaign is pencilled-in to launch in the June or September quarter this year.

Orroroo uranium project

In addition to Roger River, Norfolk is also exploring for uranium at the Orroroo project in South Australia.

Orroroo encompassed 280sq km of granted tenements and is about 274km northwest of Adelaide and situated in the Walloway Basin.

Linc Energy drilled 32 bore holes into the project in 2010, with down hole electric wireline logs identifying gamma anomalies.

Norfolk noted Orroroo is in a similar hydrocarbon basin to those that host world class sandstone uranium deposits in Kazakhstan and Niger.
