Tesoro Resources El Zorro gold project extended mineralised zone Chile

Mineralisation at Ternera remains open in all directions – offering plenty more upside for Tesoro.

There appears to be no end in sight to Tesoro Resources’ (ASX: TSO) flagship Ternera gold deposit within its El Zorro project in Chile, with latest assays revealing more high-grade zones.

Tesoro has received assays from nine diamond holes drilled at the deposit as part of an ongoing 60,000m extensional and infill program.

All holes hit gold mineralisation, with a highlight intercept from hole ZDDH0203 of 25m at 4.22 grams per tonne gold from 367m, including 14m at 6.81g/t gold from 373m, and 1.4m at 55.56g/t gold from 383m.

Tesoro noted this intercept indicates the potential for more high-grade mineralised extensions to Ternera at depth.

Eastern high-grade zone

The intercept was also the company’s 19th to exceed 100 grams per metre and complements similar results over the same eastern high-grade zone.

To-date, this zone has returned high-grade hits over 450m of strike, with mineralisation remaining open in all directions.

Another highlight result from this zone was 52m at 1.61g/t gold from 353m, including 30m at 2.57g/t gold from 353m, and 7.15m at 4.85g/t gold from 375.85m.

“The results from hole ZDDH0203 continue to confirm the higher-grade potential at Ternera,” Tesoro managing director Zeff Reeves said.

“We are seeing multiple repetitions of high-grade zones within the deposit, with a central zone now defined over 450m of strike, with some impressive high-grade results.”

“The tenor and continuity of these zones provides confidence that ongoing drilling will continue to delineate further high-grade mineralisation,” Mr Reeves added.

Infill drilling boosts confidence

As well as ZDDH0203 results, Tesoro also received assays from infill drilling at Tenera which increases the company’s confidence further in the deposit.

Notable infill results were 28m at 1.13g/t gold from 228m, including 16m at 1.78g/t gold from 228m; 103m at 0.48g/t gold from 395m, including 9m at 1.59g/t gold from 395m; and 56m at 0.85g/t gold from 106m, including 0.9m at 14.95g/t gold from 115.7m, and 7m at 3.98g/t gold from 138m.

Advancing wider El Zorro gold project

Tesoro is awaiting assays from 40 holes drilled at Ternera as part of the ongoing 60,000m program.

Drilling is continuing across Ternera as well as other priority targets at El Zorro including Ternera East, Drone Hill and Toro Blanco.

El Zorro is located in Chile’s Coastal Cordillera region, which hosts multiple world class copper and gold mines.

The region also has established infrastructure, service providers and an experienced workforce.
