New World Resources reveals ‘best ever’ drill results from Antler
New World Resources (ASX: NWC) has revealed what it describes as its “best ever drill results” from the Antler copper project in Arizona.
The company has received assays from extensional drilling at the South Shoot within the wider project.
Within the batch is what New World says is the best results seen to-date from a single hole of 10.8m at 2% copper, 6.7% zinc, 0.70% lead, 22.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.20g/t gold from 934m. This equated to 10.8m at 4.5% copper equivalent.
Also within the hole, New World intercepted 15.9m at 4.8% copper, 10.9% zinc, 0.80% lead, 42.6g/t silver and 0.52g/t gold from 48.8m – equating to 15.9m at 8.7% copper equivalent.
Combined, the two intervals totalled 26.8m at 7% copper equivalent.
‘Cracking holes’ returned from Antler
“Over the past two years we have drilled some cracking holes at Antler,” New World managing director and chief executive officer Mike Haynes said.
“On a grade-thickness basis, this is the best yet.”
Mr Haynes described the drill core from the hole as “spectacular” with 14m of true, uninterrupted, massive sulphides encountered.
“This is very exciting, particularly as this is extensional drilling, with very-large step-outs.”
“With thick and very high-grade mineralisation intersected in the deepest holes drilled in both the Main Shoot and the South Shoot, we can’t wait to see what we find below these recent holes,” Mr Haynes added.
Drilling continues
Drilling at Antler is continuing, with mineralisation remaining “completely open at depth”.
Two diamond core rigs are testing depth extensions for the deposit and assays are pending for four completed holes.
Resources for Antler currently amount to 7.7Mt at 2.2% copper, 5.3% zinc, 0.90% lead, 28.8g/t silver and 0.18g/t gold.
A scoping study that was released in June indicated Antler had a 10-year mine life based on this resource.
Antler is 15km from the town of Yucca in Arizona’s northwest. The project is close to a local workforce power and roads.
