New Murchison Gold Reports High-Grade Hits from Prospects Near its Crown Prince Project in WA

New Murchison Gold (ASX: NMG) has reported a series of high-grade gold hits from drilling outside of its flagship Crown Prince gold mine currently under development in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
The company has been exploring the Airstrip, Battery, Crescent, Lydia and Abbotts prospects, which sit across 677 square kilometres of tenure covering the majority of the Abbotts Greenstone Belt.
The belt hosts several large-scale historical gold workings defined by broad gold anomalism up to 5km in strike length.
Regional Intersections
Best intersections from drilling at the regional prospects were 20 metres at 3.36 grams per tonne gold from 49m including 1m at 39.37g/t from 53m, 5m at 5.95g/t gold from 41m including 1m at 18.74g/t from 42m, and 3m at 8.50g/t gold from 18m including 1m at 23.08g/t from 19m.
Other assays were 3m at 14.45g/t gold from 8m including 1m at 21.77g/t from 10m, 3m at 39.71g/t gold from 12m including 1m at 111.71g/t from 14m, and 2m at 36.92g/t gold from 131m including 1m at 67.97g/t from 131m.
“We are very encouraged by the high-grade results from relatively shallow depth at some of our key regional prospects which offer strong potential for future growth,” chief executive officer Alex Passmore said.
“The Airstrip prospect, in particular, has shown a 5km-long zone of gold anomalism near to the large Abernethy shear zone and has the scale to deliver a transformational gold deposit.”
Crown Prince Approvals
New Murchison Gold received approval in June to proceed with the development of the high-grade Crown Prince project and subsequently appointed an open pit mining contract to Ozland Mining Services.
The company completed the first blast at the end of June, and commenced mining in July, with ore scheduled for trucking this month to the nearby Bluebird Gold processing plant owned by Westgold Resources (ASX: WGX).
The company is expecting to deliver approximately 40,000 tonnes per month over 24 months at an average grade of more than 4g/t gold, with New Murchison Gold and Westgold to determine tonnages beyond this period as operations progress.
