New Frontier Minerals (ASX: NFM) has received positive news ahead of its key drilling campaign at Harts Range project in the Northern Territory with promising heavy rare earth (HRE) returns from a sampling program there.

Assays from a 25-kilogram bulk sample from the Cusp prospect returned 1.72% total rare earth oxides and indicated a predominance of high-value magnet rare earth elements dysprosium and terbium.

The company is assessing both conventional and novel options for processing this HRE-enriched material in a way that accelerates the pathway to commercialisation, while enabling future offtake discussions with global magnet supply chain participants.

HRE Enrichment

The Cusp bulk sample was consistently enriched in dysprosium (11.23%) and terbium (1.86%), with a rare earth basket that comprises over 94.8% heavy rare earth minerals.

“The assays demonstrate not only outstanding rare earth grades, but also outstanding niobium and tantalum grades that are rarely seen at surface,” chair Gerrard Hall said.

“With global supply of heavy rare earths dominated by China, these results highlight the strategic importance of advancing Harts Range as a potential new non-Chinese source of critical magnet metals.”

Maiden RC Drilling

New Frontier has recently commenced the regulatory process for approval to conduct a maiden reverse circulation drilling program at Harts Range, with which it will seek to further confirm the scale of the mineralised system.

The company is also preparing to undertake work to define priority drilling targets at the Cusp, Bobs, Paddington, Westminster, Old Trafford, and recently unearthed Headingley prospects.

Assay results from a July 2025 field program confirmed the new drill target at Headingley, located approximately 620m west of the mineralised Bobs prospect.

“These high-grade multi commodities reinforces the mineral potential of the area and underscores the opportunity to unlock value for shareholders as we ramp up exploration activities,” Mr Hall added.
