New Frontier Minerals (ASX: NFM) has further expanded its promising Harts Range rare earth element project in the Northern Territory.

New geochemical assay results from the company’s field program have confirmed two drill targets and identified promising new prospects at Paddington and Westminster, located approximately 200 metres and 450m west of the mineralised Bobs prospect.

These new prospects, along with the mineralised prospects at Cusp and Bobs, are in proximity to a structural corridor now extending over 2 kilometres.

Exceptional values

The new sampling returns featured highlight results of 10.61% total rare earth oxides, with 23.56% niobium pentoxide and 15.67% tantalum pentoxide.

Chair Ged Hall said the rock chip assay results from the newly identified prospects had returned exceptional values confirming significant heavy rare earth mineralisation.

“We are extremely pleased with the results of the geophysical targeting and the systematic exploration efforts by [our] geology team, which have led to the discovery of two new heavy rare earth targets at the Harts Range project,” Mr Hall said.

“We are committed to unlocking the mineral potential of this strategic asset as quickly as possible.”

Geophysical interpretation

A geophysical interpretation identified the east-north-east-trending structural feature that hosts all four mineralised prospects, with preliminary interpretation suggesting it is a potential controlling factor for uranium, niobium and heavy rare earths mineralisation.

The company’s geological team will now chase repeats of these geophysical structural trends, which it has interpreted to the north and south of the Bobs and Cusp prospects.

In addition to Cusp and Bobs, the company has also prioritised the Paddington and Westminster prospects for drilling.

2025 field season

Mr Hall said that with the commencement of the 2025 field season in April, New Frontier will continue to advance its exploration strategy.

Following the completion of geophysical interpretation and receipt of target generation data, the company has now successfully completed exploration stages one through four.

“The company’s goal is to drill test these targets after permitting and engagement of suitable contractors, enabling New Frontier to […] contribute to the growing demand for rare earth elements,” Mr Hall said.
