Monger Gold (ASX: MMG) has received assays from auger drilling and sampling at its Mt Monger North project, which uncovered up to 21.83 grams per tonne gold, along with silver and copper mineralisation.

The peak gold assay of 21.83g/t was identified in rock chips collected from the Wombola and Providence prospects within the project.

Other notable rock chips were 12.97g/t gold and 2.74g/t silver; 5.15g/t gold, 4.96g/t silver and 0.52% copper; and 7.32g/t gold, 11.62g/t silver and 0.75% copper.

Auger drilling results

In addition to the rock chip assays, Monger had submitted samples from the project’s previous owner Torian Resources (ASX: TNR), which completed auger vacuum drilling in March.

The auger program was completed at the Wombola prospect and returned 1m at 6.8g/t gold from 39m, 1m at 1.37g/t gold from 38m, and 1m at 2.18g/t gold from 20m.

Assays pending

Monger undertook its own reverse circulation infill drilling program at the project’s Providence prospect last month.

The program comprised 600m and tested down dip and the strike extent of Providence and built on historical results of 5m at 7.17g/t gold from 9m, 1m at 20.7g/t gold from 54m, and 2m at 4.21g/t gold from 33m.

Monger non-executive chairman Peretz Schapiro said the assays will be released from the RC program in the next two weeks.

Mr Schapiro added the rock chip and auger results provided encouragement that the company’s RC drilling program would return positive results.

ASX listing

Monger listed on the ASX in early July after raising $5 million in an IPO that received subscriptions amounting to $10 million.

Mt Monger North is the flagship project and is located 50km southeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia’s goldfields.

The project is adjacent to Silver Lake Resources’ (ASX: SLR) Daisy Milano complex and in a region that has produced more than 1.67 million ounces of gold.

As well as Mt Monger North, Monger owns the Mt Monger South and Gibraltar projects which are also prospective for gold.
