Technology company MGM Wireless (ASX: MWR) emerged out of its trading halt imposed last month, to announce that it had signed a trading agreement with JB Hi-Fi, Australia’s largest consumer electronics retailer with over 193 current stores.

The deal will see JB Hi-Fi stocking MGM’s SPACETALK children’s smartphone watch commencing with a trial-run in the coming weeks and potentially being expanded to all its stores later this year.

SPACETALK is an all-in-one children’s smartphone, watch and GPS tracker that allows parents and children to be in constant contact without exposing their kids to the dangers of social media apps and unrestricted access to the Internet.

The company says it has designed the device to provide essential features whilst completely safeguarding the well-being of children using the device.

According to MGM, its SPACETALK watch has been independently verified by leading international cybersecurity experts as “unhackable”.

To boost promotion of its revolutionary, all-in-one smartphone, watch and GPS wearable device MGM said it would showcase its technology at Australia’s leading consumer electronics retailer as a means of aiding product awareness, buyer confidence and sales.

The SPACETALK product

MGM Wireless says it conceived and developed its smartwatch device after realising of the growing dangers of unmonitored Internet use by children.

The state aim was to design a quality communication tool that could help keep children safe without leaving the doors open to potentially dangerous unrestricted access to the internet and social media.

SPACETALK meets strict European Union security and privacy protocols whilst allowing children to make or receive calls from a closed list of contacts chosen by parents using the accompanying AllMyTribe smartphone app.

The SPACETALK device also allows other features desired by parents including an “SOS button” for emergency notifications, a step counter to track children’s activity and a location tracker to alert them of their children’s whereabouts.

According to MGM, its device has received “impressive initial online sales” and adds that it is “buoyed by large numbers of positive customer reviews and feedback on social media.”

Since launching its proprietary online store at www.allmytribe.com in October 2017, MGM’s current stock is “approaching sell-out” with the next target in the company’s crosshairs quickly becoming brick and mortar sales.

“We are honoured to have JB Hi-Fi – Australia’s largest, and one of the world’s leading consumer electronics retailers on-board to trial sales. We are working towards the day when parents will have the opportunity to try SPACETALK before they buy and have the confidence that they are purchasing from Australia’s leading consumer electronics retailer,” said Mark Fortunatow, CEO of MGM Wireless.
