Copper Flats contains historical workings, which produced up to 22.8% copper and 230g/t silver.

Copied

After reviewing geophysical survey data, Mamba Exploration (ASX: M24) has identified several bedrock conductors located where previous surface sampling returned high-grade copper and silver at its Copper Flats project in Western Australia’s Kimberley.

The conductors were identified from 2.5D inversion modelling of regional airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey data.

Mamba managing director Mike Dunbar said the company said it was “very encouraging” the conductors are coincident with the interpreted basin growth faults and the high-grade copper and silver that was revealed during surface sampling last year.

“There are also several strong conductors in areas, which have not had any surface sampling undertaken,” Mr Dunbar added.

He said the survey has also clearly mapped out the basin stratigraphy and confirmed the company’s geological interpretations.

TEMPEST airborne EM survey

To gather a better understanding of the conductors, Mamba is planning a more detailed TEMPEST airborne EM survey.

Mr Dunbar said the data from this survey will be “invaluable” in identifying high-grade copper-silver targets across the project.

The survey will cover about 1,800 line kilometres over the eastern portion of Copper Flats, with 200m lines spaced over the known anomalies.

Mamba has engaged Xcalibur Multiphysics to undertake the survey, which is scheduled to begin in October and be completed within 10 days.

Final data from the survey is anticipated within five weeks after it has finished.

Soil sampling

A soil sampling program is already underway at the Ord Hill prospect where previous work uncovered peak grades of 5% copper and 5 grams per tonne silver.

The program has will collect about 2,600 samples and is about 60% complete.

A portable XRF is onsite to enable rapid analysis of the samples to assist with guiding additional sampling if required.

Copper Flats

Previous surface sampling at Copper Flats returned up to 34.3% copper and 54.2g/t silver at the Area 5 target.

Additionally, the project contains historical workings at the Area 5 target which produced up to 22.8% copper and 230g/t silver.

Both targets are underexplored and have not been drill tested.
