Under the guidance of former L’Oréal Australia managing director, Live Verdure (ASX: LV1) is targeting a soft launch of its new 8 Seeds hemp-based skincare range in the September quarter of this year.

In conjunction with Live Verdure’s Australian-based third-party manufacturer, stability and compatibility research has been completed, with testing in progress.

Additionally, a pre-production run on the four initial skincare products is underway.

Former L’Oréal Australia managing director Mark Tucker joined Live Verdure last year as general manager of the 8 Seeds skincare division to drive its development and launch.

While with L’Oréal Australia, Mr Tucker grew revenue from $12 million to $400 million.

Hemp-based skincare range

The initial 8 Seeds skincare products to be sold comprise a daily hydrating facial moisturiser with SPF, facial serum, cleansing oil and body repair crème.

All products contain hemp seed oil and various other Australian-native natural ingredients.

“It is exciting to see our hemp-based skincare products coming to life and I am confident that consumers will love using the products, which is key to developing brand-loyal users,” Mr Tucker said.

“When combining the unique qualities in hemp seed oil and our high-standard formulations, 8 Seeds products will deliver effective skincare solutions across the targeted market segments.”

To ensure the products perform at the “highest level”, Mr Tucker said the company had also worked with local and international chemists and manufacturers.

The company plans to roll-out the initial four products to its existing customer database during the September quarter of this year.

This will be followed by expanded distribution to select online and traditional retailers in the December quarter.

New products under development

In addition to the initial four products, Live Verdure also has a further nine under development.

The company is using the anti-inflammatory properties of hemp to create the Derma range which is targeted for common skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea.

Another gentle and non-irritating and anti-inflammatory range is under development for people with sensitive skin.

Live Verdure plans to roll-out these products following the launch of the initial range in the September quarter.

Products will be available in Australia with the go-to-market strategy for sales in the US to be developed in conjunction with the company’s partner THG.
