Latest results confirm Resolution Minerals’ 64North project hosts Pogo-style mineralisation
Resolution Minerals plans to resume drilling at Aurora before the end of the month.
Resolution Minerals (ASX: RML) has a gained a better understanding of the Aurora prospect’s geology, after latest assays revealed mineralisation typical of Northern Star Resources’ (ASX: NST) nearby Pogo gold system.
Located within the within the 64North project, Resolution noted Aurora’s rock type, quartz veining, intense alteration, elevated bismuth and tellurium that correlated to gold in assays was similar to the Pogo system.
Resolution has received assays from the lower third of hole one and all results from hole two, which is incomplete at 194m instead of the target depth of 600m, due to COVID-19 disruptions.
The holes were designed to test structural and geophysical signatures to gain better knowledge of the project geology and uncover potential flat-lying Pogo-style mineralisation at depth.
Resolution managing director Duncan Chessell said the assays confirm the Pogo-style mineralisation is present within the Aurora prospect.
“We are pleased that on the first drill hole of the 64North Project our geology team has struck 11 gold-mineralised zones from near surface to the end of hole at 462m depth,” he said.
Best intervals from hole one were: 0.55m at 0.52 grams per tonne gold from 94.31m, 1.01m at 1.59g/t gold from 389.9m and 0.77m at 1.23g/t gold from 430.65m.
In the second incomplete hole, highlight assays were 0.65m at 0.53g/t gold from 72.83m, and 1.33m at 0.4g/t gold from 98.25m.
This hole was located close to Northern Star’s Pogo tenement boundary.
Advancing 64North
Resolution plans to evaluate the results to determine whether it will re-enter the second hole and complete it to the originally planned 600m.
The company noted the latest results had been “invaluable” and will assist with firming up future drill targets.
Additionally, results from a regional review will be revealed in the last week of May.
A return to the field and resumption of drilling are planned to begin before the end of the month, with the crew expected to quarantine on site then begin work.
Over at the Echo prospect, which is directly down dip from Northern Star’s Goodpaster discovery, Resolution plans to begin drilling in August.
“The scale potential of both the Aurora and Echo prospects is compelling, and we look forward to drilling our high priority drill targets in the coming summer season,” Mr Chessell said.
