Koonenberry Gold plans follow-up drilling after high-grade hits at Sunnyside

Koonenberry Gold (ASX: KNB) is already preparing to follow up the success of its maiden drilling campaign at the Enmore gold project’s Sunnyside prospect in northeast NSW.
Results from the recently completed program will be used to design diamond drilling to test the continuity of mineralisation at Sunnyside in multiple directions, including along a 125-metre by 550m prospective structural corridor.
The company will also use results from a soil sampling program to plan drilling at other prospects in the district.
Positive assay results
Koonenberry has now received positive assays from its first diamond drill hole at the Sunnyside prospect, with highlight numbers of 170m at 1.75 grams per tonne gold including 18.3m at 9.95g/t gold.
Notably, the high-grade intercept is coincident with visible gold zones and is associated with intense multiphase veining, sulphides and breccia.
The company believes these assays validate historical drill results and provide further evidence for the potential of broad intervals of gold mineralisation at Sunnyside, along with high-grade gold zones.
‘Truly exciting result’
“This is a truly exciting result from our first ever drill hole into the Enmore project,” managing director Dan Power said.
“Samples from holes 25ENDD002, 003 and 004, which all intersected visible gold, are now at the lab and will be reported through April.”
“Drilling at Sunnyside is ongoing and continues to target extensions to the system, which we have demonstrated to have a 240m vertical depth extent on three sections.”
Mineralisation remains open
Koonenberry is keen to further investigate the initial potential it has identified at Sunnyside, with gold mineralisation remaining open up-dip in the preferred granite host rock, plus along strike and at depth.
The company designed the initial hole at Sunnyside to target potential high-grade vein sets at a high angle to the shear zone while simultaneously validating historical drilling results.
Koonenberry Gold plans to prioritise future programs across its portfolio of high-quality gold and copper projects in highly prospective areas of NSW so as to maximise shareholder value .
