Kingston Resources unearths more shallow, high-grade gold-silver at Pearse North
Drilling at Kingston Resources’ (ASX: KSN) Pearse North deposit, within the Mineral Hill mine in New South Wales, has returned more shallow, high-grade gold and silver as well as intercepting mineralisation outside of the current reserve.
The company has received final assays from the phase one drilling program that comprised five diamond holes for 655m, and 17 reverse circulation holes for 2,454m.
Drilling was designed to test the mineralised strike length at Pearse North and confirm the structures controlling the gold-silver mineralisation continued down dip and along strike.
It identified new mineralised structures on the western and eastern margins of the system.
Highlight intercepts from the final assays were 12m at 3.68 grams per tonne gold and 9g/t silver from 14m, including 7m at 5.69g/t gold and 13g/t silver from 15m; 17m at 2.7g/t gold and 11g/t silver from 15m, including 11m at 4g/t gold and 15g/t silver from 20m; and 8m at 5.6g/t gold and 66g/t silver from 120m, including 3m at 14.2g/t gold and 177g/t silver from 125m.
Kingston noted the results are in line with previous reported assays from the deposit such as 39m at 4.2g/t gold and 37g/t silver from 37m, including 3m at 26.7g/t gold and 27g/t silver from 38m; and 10m at 6g/t gold 33g/t silver from 72m.
Mineralised extensions offer upside to Mineral Hill operation
Managing director Andrew Corbett said it was encouraging that a number of extensions had been identified to the existing mineralisation, while development planning for the Pearse pits and South Ore Zone (SOZ) underground advances.
“The next step in the development process will be an updated mineral resource at both Pearse North and Pearse South – anticipated next month.”
“Importantly, the shallow gold-silver mineralisation defined in our drill program at Pearse potentially provides a seamless transition of mill feed on completion of the current tailings processing operation.”
Mr Corbett said the remaining assays from drilling at SOZ, Jacks Hut and Missing Link are expected “shortly”.
The Mineral Hill project currently has reserves of 71,000 ounces of gold and 346,000oz silver.
Kingston is processing tailings at Mineral Hill as it firms up resources and reserves for mining from late 2023 and onwards.
