Kingston Resources posts record gold production from Mineral Hill
Kingston Resources (ASX: KSN) has posted record production for October at its Mineral Hill gold operation in New South Wales.
This follows previous record producing months in July and August.
October gold output reached 1,332 ounces, with sales also at an all-time high of 1,390oz.
Gold sales attracted an average of $2,600/oz for October, while all in sustaining costs (AISC) were $1,719/oz – substantially lower than the average AISC of $2,147/oz in the September quarter.
These results are expected to bump Kingston into positive operating cash flow.
The October figure was attributed to record gold recoveries and mining reaching an annualised rate of 690,000 tonnes.
Kingston managing director Andrew Corbett said the October performance was “fantastic”.
“We are pleased to see recoveries continue to improve as we move deeper in the tailings storage facility, and significant credit needs to go to the mining team for sustaining strong rates of production despite very challenging operating conditions.”
Mr Corbett said the record October was followed by the company delivering its 10,000th ounce from the operation.
Mineral Hill copper-gold operation
Kingston is currently processing tailings at Mineral Hill, while it firms up resources and reserves across major targets.
Tailings production at the mine is expected to continue into 2024, with mining to then begin at the Pearse South and Pearse North open pits, followed by the Southern Ore Zone (SOZ) underground operation.
To sustain longer-term output, Kingston will also develop other open pits targets – Jacks Hut, Missing Link, and Parkers Hill.
Recent drilling has numerous gold, copper and silver intercepts across the targets.
Highlight results from Pearse North comprised 39m at 4.2 grams per tonne gold and 37g/t silver from 37m, including 3m at 26.7g/t gold and 27g/t silver from. Resource and reserve estimates from Pearse North and Pearse South are expected in the current quarter.
“We look forward to providing further updates on the five-year plan for Mineral Hill in the coming weeks and months,” Mr Corbett said.
