Kin Mining has unearthed up to 4m at 38.8g/t gold during aircore drilling at the Eagle-Crow prospect within the Cardinia gold project.

Western Australian gold explorer Kin Mining (ASX: KIN) reports “significant” gold assays at the Eagle and Crow prospects which lie on the western side of its Cardinia project near Leonora, Western Australia.

Shallow aircore drilling hit intervals up to 4m at 38.8 grams per tonne gold and the company says the mineralisation indicates early-stage similarities to that at other prospects — Bruno-Lewis and Cardinia Hill — within the overall Cardinia project.

That 4m interval was part of an 8m intercept averaging 19.8g/t, with other holes returning 8m at 1.09g/t, 4m at 1.93g/t, 4m at 1.04g/t and 4m at 1.01g/t.

Kin Mining says these latest results build on “numerous” previously reported high-grade intercepts at Eagle-Crow in adjacent lines of drilling.

These, the company adds, indicate the extensive nature of the mineralisation.

Earlier this month, Kin Mining completed updated mineral resource for its Cardinia gold project near Leonora that now stands at 1.23 million ounces.

The measured and indicated mineral resource rose by 15%, from 102,000oz to 762,000oz.

The company said at the time that this reflected the success of the infill drilling programs conducted in recent months, and which also demonstrated the “scale and quality” of the Cardinia project.

Two parallel zones at Eagle-Crow

Managing director Andrew Munckton said the latest Eagle-Crow results further reinforce the company’s enthusiasm about this western side of the Cardinia gold project.

He added that, based on this successful air-core drilling program, Kin Mining has now confirmed the presence of two parallel zones of mineralisation at Eagle-Crow with follow-up drilling to be undertaken as soon as the rigs complete the current programs at the Rangoon and Cardinia Hill prospects.

“While Eagle-Crow remains an early-stage exploration target, the results that we are seeing indicate exciting potential to delineate a new, shallow, high-grade gold discovery,” Mr Munckton said.

The 100% owned Cardinia gold project located in the highly prospective North-Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.

Kin Mining’s exploration effort is a systematic program across the Cardinia mining centre that seeks to advance a number of targets in parallel while developing a pipeline of targets for ongoing mineral resource expansion.

At Eagle-Crow, the broad spaced aircore drilling defining two parallel zones of mineralisation highlights the potential for an extensive shallow gold discovery.

This aircore program will soon be followed up by diamond and reverse circulation drilling.

Eagle is located just 3km from the site of the proposed processing mill.

Previously, rock chip sampling and scout drilling at both Eagle and Crow returned high grade results.
