Kalgoorlie Gold Doubles Strike at Pinjin’s Lighthorse Prospect with AC Drilling

Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX: KAL) has significantly grown the Lighthorse prospect with drilling success at the Pinjin project in Western Australia.
The company’s recent aircore (AC) drilling program at Lighthorse has more than doubled the strike of the prospect to 1,450 metres.
Kalgoorlie sees the AC drilling success as the perfect lead-up to its upcoming reverse circulation (RC) that will be part of the most extensive RC work to date at Pinjin.
Upcoming RC Drilling
The RC program will test gold anomalies the company identified to the north and south of the initial Lighthorse discovery drill sections.
Kalgoorlie Gold will undertake further infill and extensional drilling in and around Lighthorse at the same time.
The company also plans to follow-up the anomalies it previously defined at Kirgella West, immediately west of Lighthorse.
Validated Geological Model
“This AC drill program has successfully validated KalGold’s geological model, identifying a substantial strike length of strongly anomalous gold mineralisation over approximately 1,500m and identifying lower-level gold anomalism for another 500m along strike,” managing director Matt Painter said.
“Numerous, highly anomalous intervals, importantly including several significant thicker intercepts ending in mineralisation, highlight the potential for higher grades at depth [and] confirm the scale of the system.
“When combined with earlier data (including the very high-grade initial discovery intercepts) the size, distribution, and intensity of gold mineralisation at Lighthorse is consistent with the potential for significant gold mineralisation at depth.”
‘Significant Step Forward’
“This marks a significant step forward for the company as we continue to advance exploration at the Pinjin Project to see what lies beneath cover at Lighthorse,” Mr Painter said.
The company will integrate the RC program timeline with the diamond drilling it has planned to test a conceptual structural intersection target between the Kirgella Gift and Providence deposit.
That program has received co-funding from the WA Government as part of its Exploration Incentive Scheme grant program.
