Kairos Minerals (ASX: KAI) is anticipating a “vast” amount of drill results in the coming weeks with drilling now complete at the Kangan project near De Grey Mining’s (ASX: DEG) 6.8 million ounce gold Hemi discovery.

Located in Western Australia’s Pilbara region and 20km south of Hemi, Kairos undertook 133 holes of aircore drilling at Kangan for 5,454m.

The program tested a “sizable” anomaly.

Kairos executive chairman Terry Topping said the company had unearthed some “very interesting geology” at Kangan including multiple intrusive lithologies, mafic intrusions and a large amount of pegmatite.

Over at the nearby Mount York project, reverse circulation drilling is making “excellent progress” with 73 holes completed for 10,219m.

All-up, Kairos is awaiting assays from around 15,000m of RC and aircore drilling across its wider Pilbara gold project ground, which includes Kangan and Mount York.

Samples from this drilling are now in the laboratory, with assays anticipated within two months.

“Investors can therefore look forward to what is shaping up as an avalanche of news flow from Kairos as results continue to flow through over the next two-to-three months,” Mr Topping said.

Exploration across Pilbara tenements moves into ‘top gear’

Mr Topping added the company’s 2021 field season in the Pilbara was about to move into “top gear”.

First assays have been received from drilling at Mt York with a best initial intercept from the Old Faithful prospect of 28m at 1.43 grams per tonne gold for 72m, including 4m at 2.37g/t gold from 84m.

Mr Topping said the company was “pleased” to see the broad zones of gold mineralisation at Old Faithful.

Over at Kairos’ Wodgina project, an airborne magnetic and radiometric survey has been completed.

The project is believed prospective for lithium and is adjacent to Mineral Resources’ (ASX: MIN) tier one Wodgina spodumene deposit, which has a reserve of 151.9 million tonnes at 1.17% lithium.

At Wodgina, Kairos has also completed Ultrafine+ soil sampling with 1,517 samples submitted for analysis.

Meanwhile a fixed loop transient electromagnetic survey was undertaken at the Tierra prospect within the Croydon project.

At the Skywell asset, mapping, rock chip and soil sampling are underway.
