Ixup awarded early extension for BetStop self-exclusion contract with ACMA
Ixup (ASX: IXU) has secured an early two-year extension to a national self-exclusion register (NSER) contract with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
The extension focuses on the company’s flagship BetStop anti-gambling register and reflects Ixup’s operational performance and its growing contribution to responsible gaming compliance worldwide.
The contract will now run until June 2027 and Ixup expects it will provide revenue certainty, with further extensions possible as long as the company’s technology solution aligns with the Australian government’s stated legislative aims.
Strong endorsement
Ixup chief executive officer Al Watson said the contract extension was a strong endorsement of the company’s performance and capabilities.
“It reflects the trust that ACMA places in our company to deliver innovative, reliable and high-performing solutions to one of Australia’s most critical consumer protection initiatives,” he said.
“BetStop’s strong performance is a testament to the capabilities of our team and the strength and uniqueness of our technology solution.”
Mr Watson said the Ixup board remained optimistic about the future of the NSER and the broader potential of the company’s centralised self-exclusion solutions in the global regulated gaming technology industry.
Self-exclusion platform
Since BetStop commenced operations in August 2023, more than 38,000 individuals have enrolled on the platform to exclude themselves from online and phone wagering services nationwide.
Members of the public wishing to self-exclude can do so online or by telephone for periods ranging from a minimum of three months to a lifetime.
Once an individual has opted out, gaming providers can no longer accept bets from them, open accounts in their names or send them marketing materials.
More than 22.2 billion self-exclusion checks have been performed to date, with an average response time of less than five milliseconds per check ensuring real-time compliance with regulatory requirements.
