Final assays from drilling at the Paris South target within the Paris project in South Australia have included the highest grade silver results in the current program for owner Investigator Resources (ASX: IVR).

The 37-hole program for a total 7,150 metres was designed to provide opportunities for future exploration south of the known resource estimate of 18.8 million tonnes at 88 grams per tonne silver and 0.52% lead for 53.1 million ounces silver and 97,600t lead.

Results from the last 24 holes included the highest 1m silver assay from latest drilling at the southern end of the Paris deposit.

Highlights were 25m at 207g/t silver from 73m, including 8m at 615g/t from 78m and 1m at 2,410g/t from 80m; 39m at 80g/t silver from 111m, including 14m at 177g/t from 116m and 100m at 1.17% lead from 59m, including 16m at 4.03% lead from 116m; and 34m at 48g/t silver from 61m, including 11m at 90g/t from 78m.

The results will be fed into a revised mineral resource estimate expected to be released by mid-year.

Extending the footprint

Managing director Andrew McIlwain said drilling focused on extending the Paris footprint.

“It is encouraging that we are still seeing significant silver mineralisation in this recent drilling south of the deposit’s footprint and including the highest 1m assay of this drilling program at 2,410g/t silver,” he said.

“Equally significant is that we intersected silver mineralisation in the southern-most line of drilling, offering scope for future exploration yet further south.”

He said the lead intersections provide the opportunity to realise additional value from Paris and will be a key focus of work being carried out for the project’s definitive feasibility study.

Eyre Peninsula location

Investigator’s wholly-owned Paris project is located 70 kilometres north of Kimba along the Eyre Peninsula.

With positive pre-feasibility outcomes reported in late-2021, the company is now working towards completion of a definitive feasibility study while progressing exploration across adjacent ground holdings within South Australia.
