Perth-based clean air compressor maker Sprintex (ASX: SIX) has completed initial energy consumption and wastewater oxygenation efficiency testing on its new G15 general purpose industrial blower.

The blower has been developed with innovative smart pulse aeration (SPA) technology specifically for the wastewater treatment market in China and other regions.

The unit has been shown to achieve energy savings of up to 40% in various applications when combined with Sprintex SPA and a 27% saving over conventional side-channel blowers.

It is also able to provide efficient water oxygenation in 50% deeper ponds than conventional blowers and offers up to four times the service life of blowers commonly used in water treatment plants.

Reducing energy wastage

SPA mode allows the unit’s programmable logic controller (PLC) to vary the air output based on the oxygen content of the water, thereby reducing energy wastage and ensuring maximum efficiency.

Durability of the G15 turbo blower is expected to exceed four times the lifespan of conventional units and has the additional benefits of being 50% lighter, 30% smaller and 10 decibels quieter in the same applications.

The blower also features an integral control system with touch screen interface, automatic surge control, built-in safety alarms and shutdown to eliminate costly system problems, reduce downtime and save on operational maintenance and repair costs.

Sprintex has lodged a worldwide patent application for the G15 industrial blower.

World conferences

Sprintex is set to showcase its extended e-compressor range at the World Hydrogen Technology conferences in Texas later this month.

It follows on from appearances at last year’s conferences, where the company picked up contracts with three major original equipment manufacturers as well as numerous other projects.

Managing director Jay Upton said he expected the good news to continue this year.

“We expect the upcoming conferences for our hydrogen fuel cell products and innovative water aeration units to bring similar levels of demand,” he said.

“We are seeing a surge in customer confidence and desire for change in our favour and see this trend continuing as we introduce innovations to the world’s major markets.”

Sprintex will also attend the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) automotive convention in the US and the WETEX sustainability conference in Dubai later this year.
