Iceni Gold (ASX: ICL) continues to unravel the potential mineral riches of the Christmas Gift prospect at its Everleigh Well target area in Western Australia.

The company’s latest round of exploration activities at Everleigh obtained very high-grade gold rock chip assays from an outcropping vein at the Christmas Gift anomaly.

The new samples returned grades as high as 18,207 grams per tonne gold in what looks to be another promising vein discovery at Everleigh.

Rich gold play potential

Initially identified by a UFF technology survey, the Christmas Gift vein is located within a cluster of gold prospectivity indicators.

Technical director, David Nixon, said the company is following the extent of the vein along strike in its continuing Everleigh fieldwork program.

“Assay results from the discovery of the second outcropping quartz vein with visible gold in the Everleigh target area are exciting, as they back up the initial field observations that reported visible gold in outcrop,” Mr Nixon said.

“The high-grade rock chip results from the vein are supported by the underlying UFF+ soil anomaly, prospectivity indicators (including gold nuggets, workings and anomalous geochemical assays) and the multiple coincident targets generated by existing exploration work.”

Iceni has sighted in-situ gold bearing rock chips and a significant numbers of various sized gold nuggets in its ongoing fieldwork programme at Christmas Gift.

The Christmas Gift vein has been identified as being associated with a cluster of historic workings and scrapings.

Information from this campaign will be utilised to develop prime targets for future exploration drilling.

Iceni has identified the Christmas Gift target as a multi-element UFF anomaly coincident with a number of other targets.

Previous success at Everleigh

The success at Christmas Gift comes hot on the heels of Iceni’s recent revelation that it had discover more than 550 gold nuggets of various sizes at Everleigh Well.

It reported in early June that fieldwork has extended the Everleigh high-grade vein trend by 600m along strike.

The company also revealed it had identified an elevated tellurium signature in Everleigh rock chip results that appear similar to nearby gold deposits known to have tellurides at Sunrise Dam, Wallaby and Jupiter.

Diamond drilling at Everleigh was previously reported in February, April and October in 2022.

That drilled was designed to testing the Castlemaine Fault. The company hit numerous gold intersections along a 900m length in one hole.
