Harvey Norman will market HSC’s smartphone-assisted healthcare solutions to trade customers including builders and housing developers.

Aged care technology provider HSC Technology Group (ASX: HSC) has entered into a re-seller agreement with the New South Wales commercial division of Harvey Norman Holdings (ASX: HVN) which will see its HSC Care and HSC Home solutions marketed to trade-only customers including builders, developers, architects and plumbers.

The initial three-year agreement – with the option of a two-year extension – could potentially expand HSC’s sales channels and give it access to opportunities within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

HSC Technology provides a range of connected health and smart homecare solutions for seniors and people with disabilities.

The company’s assistive technology platforms employ next generation machine learning and artificial intelligence to determine user routines, detect anomalies and allow for better decision-making by carers and families, minimising unnecessary care and facilitating welfare checks in a more responsive manner.

Smartcare platform

HSC Care is an integrated telehealth and smartcare platform which gives seniors the opportunity to live independently in their own home, while being connected to family and professional care if needed.

Within a month following installation, HSC Care’s artificial intelligence technology will get to know a customer’s daily routine, providing valuable insights relating to their health and safety – including advanced fall detection and voice-activated alerts – to carers and family members via a smartphone app.

In-home security

HSC Home provides solutions for security, safety and smart home capabilities, enabling people to independently manage their home environment from any location, in real time, and on any screen.

The product is managed by a smart hub that connects to a mobile app to control up to 98 devices including a range of home security, safety and sensor systems.

It also hosts a home automation feature, which leverages HSC’s Internet of Things (IoT) platform TALIUS to deliver a complete connected-home experience.

Largest provider

HSC managing director Graham Russell said the Harvey Norman agreement will position HSC as one of the largest providers of home automation and telecare products in its field and potentially deliver a new revenue stream for the company.

“Harvey Norman will provide us with access to a national network of companies specialising in clients with large volume needs such as housing developments, retirement villages, hospitals, schools and a range of other opportunities potentially needing home automation or telecare solutions,” he said.

“More and more end users are demanding better home and care automation solutions and partnering with Harvey Norman allows us to provide our products and services to a much larger market,” Mr Russell added.
