Haranga Resources (ASX: HAR) has reported shallow and high-grade gold mineralisation from individual 1 metre drilling samples at the Ibel South Gold project in southeastern Senegal.

The results support earlier findings from 4m composite samples that returned grades greater than 0.4 grams per tonne gold, confirming matching or improved continuity and tenor.

The new samples have demonstrated strong correlation with the composites while identifying new sharper, high-grade zones.

Termite Mound Campaign

Haranga collected the samples as part of its Phase 1 exploration campaign targeting high-priority termite mounds—a low-cost method of identifying soil anomalies containing gold.

Best intercepts were 20m at 6g/t gold from 12m including 4m at 14.1g/t, 12m at 6.12g/t gold from 42m including 7m at 10.05g/t, and 5m at 4.7g/t gold from 5m including 3m at 7.8g/t.

Highest reported grades over 1m included 28.93g/t gold from 23m and 32.09g/t gold from 9m, and the mineralisation remains open.

Corridor Prospectivity Reinforced

Managing director Peter Batten said the new results reinforce the prospectivity of the Ibel South corridor and support further targeting of high-grade shoots along strike and at depth.

“These single metre results refine our earlier intercepts and confirm the shallow and high-grade nature of this mineralisation, which remains open in all directions,” he said.

“With the rainy season nearing an end, the company will have the opportunity to undertake an expanded 3,000m drill program to test these other target areas, as well as look to further test the known mineralisation extents from the initial program.”

Haranga will also begin a maiden drill program at its advanced high-grade Lincoln gold project, where it aims to convert known resources to JORC.

Stage 2 Exploration

Haranga is awaiting final community authorisations for the start of Stage 2 exploration at Ibel South, which will comprise aircore and infill drilling between known intercepts to resolve grade continuity and shoot geometry.

The company will conduct step-out drilling to the north and south to extend mineralised trends and test high-tenor termite mounds which were not previously drilled.

It will also drilling the lateritic plateau tops, which are devoid of termite mounds, making surface sampling ineffective with regard to detecting blind mineralisation.
