Haranga Resources Hits High-Grade Gold at Ibel South Project in Senegal

Haranga Resources (ASX: HAR) has returned high-grade assay results from the maiden aircore (AC) drilling program at its Ibel South gold project in southeastern Senegal.
Highlight results such as 20 metres at 6.54 grams per tonne, 4m at 14.83 g/t, and 4m at 14.64g/t confirmed the gold anomalism potential previously identified through termite mound sampling (TMS), with several holes returning wide intervals exceeding 1g/t in multiple 4m composites.
Initial assessments from the 41-hole program indicate mineralisation may extend laterally over more than 700m, with the potential for greater strike length if zones connect.
Refining Mineralised Boundaries
Haranga’s immediate focus will be to refine the mineralised boundaries and confirm internal grade distribution by re-assaying original 1m samples corresponding to all composite intervals that returned gold grades above 0.25g/t.
The company will continue to work through the full assay dataset to define drilling targets for testing depth and strike continuity, as well as the extent of the mineralised zones identified during the maiden campaign, and expects to have these results by the end of September.
Haranga plans to wait until the end of the Senegal wet season to resume field operations later this year.
In the meantime, Haranga will focus on drilling at its Lincoln gold project in California, which includes historical non-JORC indicated and inferred resources of 286,000 ounces at 9.3g/t.
Exceeded Company Expectations
Managing director Peter Batten said the results from the maiden drill program exceeded the company’s expectations.
“Indicated in these results are broad, high-grade zones with strike continuity from the first group of TMS anomalies drill tested at Ibel South, which is located in a major gold district with known multi-million ounce mines,” he said.
Future work at Ibel South will include drilling of the remaining TMS anomalies on the lower plateaus to the north-east of these intercepts, which the company could not drill in this campaign.
