Great Boulder Resources Identifies Significant New Gold Targets at Side Well Project in WA

Great Boulder Resources (ASX: GBR) has identified chargeability anomalies with a strike length of more than 3 kilometres at its Side Well gold project near Meekatharra in Western Australia.
The results from a pole-dipole Induced Polarisation (IP) survey the company conducted in July uncovered multiple potential follow-up targets north of the Mulga Bill area at Side Well.
That survey followed a 2022 IP survey program at Mulga Bill that successfully identified shallow chargeable responses coincident with gold mineralisation, with the 2025 survey highlighting similar geology.
New Corridor Identified
In addition to targets within the known central and eastern corridors, the new survey has highlighted a possible third corridor located between the other two structures.
Great Boulder has correlated the anomalies from both the 2022 and 2025 surveys with other datasets including gravity, magnetics, structural mapping, surface geochemistry and existing drilling to establish a series of high priority targets.
“We now have […] a second drill rig heading to site in late August that will allow us to accelerate progress on our current programs and also start first-pass drilling on these new targets while we work towards the Side Well resource update,” managing director Andrew Paterson said.
In addition to the upcoming drilling program, Great Boulder is in the process of planning geotechnical studies on the Ironbark pit at Side Well, including drilling diamond holes for geotechnical and metallurgical purposes.
Promising Ironbark Results
Earlier this month, Great Boulder reported promising assay results from 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes it drilled across 2,385 metres in its second phase of exploration south of Ironbark.
The total strike length of the Ironbark deposit now exceeds 750m, with the company also intersecting mineralisation on the southern side of the Goldfields Highway.
A hit of 4m at 2.64 grams per tonne represented the southernmost RC drilling Great Boulder has completed to date, with mineralisation remaining open to the south and at depth.
According to Mr Paterson, that result provides an opportunity to continue expanding the Ironbark deposit, and the company has already begun planning for its next stage of RC drilling in this area.
