Gorilla Gold Mines (ASX: GG8) has made a new footwall lode discovery, significantly extending its Mulwarrie gold project in Western Australia’s Goldfields region with recent drilling.

Preparing to unveil a mineral resource estimate for Mulwarrie in coming weeks, Gorilla has received significant new high-grade assay results from drilling that targeted down-dip extensions as well as shallow in-fill of the known mineralisation at the project.

Gorilla is now awaiting results from the remaining drill holes from the maiden program at Mulwarrie, which is located 60 kilometres from Gorilla’s Comet Vale project and in the vicinity of multiple operating gold processing facilities just north of Kalgoorlie.

Significant Gold Endowment

Chief executive officer Charles Hughes said the continued discovery of new lodes highlights the significant gold endowment of the Mulwarrie system, which comprises multiple stacked lodes across a 2.5km strike.

“Mulwarrie is continuing to deliver impressive results on several fronts, confirming its potential as a large, high-grade, multi-lode gold deposit that starts from surface with mineralisation now intersected in multiple lodes over a zone more than 200m wide, well beyond the current resource up to 400m below surface,” Mr Hughes said.

Highlight hits from the new drilling included 9m at 4.9 grams per tonne gold from 253m and 8m at 4.7g/t from 33m.

“It’s fair to say we see great potential for further growth beyond this in the next round of drilling, particularly along the broader strike extent up to Mulwarrie North.”

King Kong Promise

Gorilla also reported drilling success earlier in the month at its Comet Vale project, located 97km north of Kalgoorlie.

The company received encouraging new results exploration and growth drilling it used to in-fill and extend the mineralisation at the King Kong prospect, one of several emerging high-grade positions within the broader Lakeview discovery at Comet Vale.

Mr Hughes said that Gorilla was rapidly advancing its exploration and growth strategy at Comet Vale and expected as many as five rigs to be operating at the site over the next few months.
