Golden Deeps builds copper potential in Namibia with discovery of three surface anomalies
Golden Deeps plans to complete shallow reconnaissance drilling over the copper anomalies.
As it advances its Australian gold and copper projects, Golden Deeps (ASX: GED) has discovered three surface copper anomalies on its newly granted Namibia tenements close to TSXV-listed Trigon Metals’ Kombat copper mine.
The company has undertaken soil sampling over two of its three exclusive prospecting licences located in northern Namibia between towns Ovati and Kombat.
At the Hohentweil tenement, Golden Deeps collected 205 soil samples which returned a peak value of 279 parts per million copper.
Samples have identified a 1km long anomaly that is 400m wide across the prospecting licence which is 5km along strike of Votorantim Metals’ Deblin copper mine.
Over at the Kombat South licence, 330 soil samples were recovered and revealed a peak 365ppm copper.
Sampling over this licence identified two anomalies with the larger target extending 500m in length and 200m in width.
With the discovery of the three anomalies, Golden Deeps plans to carry out shallow reconnaissance drilling.
The program will focus on the Deblin mine mineralised trend and test areas with shallow cover where soil sampling was not effective.
Golden Deeps has also planned further soil sampling across the licences to generate more drill targets.
Tuckers Hill gold project
Today’s positive exploration results in Namibia follow Golden Deeps locking-in the Tuckers Hill exploration licence in New South Wales earlier this week.
The NSW Department of Mining, Exploration and Geoscience granted the company a six year licence covering the project where preliminary exploration has already confirmed gold reefs and historic workings found by previous explorers.
Golden Deeps has collected 45 rock chip samples from the project with assays pending.
The project hosts numerous historic workings with limited records revealing 1,900t of ore was mined in the late 1800s and early 1900s with an average grade of 38 grams per tonne gold.
Tuckers Hill surrounds the Hargraves Goldfield and is close to Mudgee in NSW.
It has undergone little modern exploration.
