Gold hits have continued for Kin Mining (ASX: KIN) at its flagship Cardinia gold project near Leonora in Western Australia, with drilling at the nearby newly discovered Eagle-Crow prospect also returning wide high-grade zones.

Initial reverse circulation drilling at Eagle-Crow, which is 2km west of Cardinia has unearthed up to 17m at 3.75 grams per tonne gold from 43m, including 4m at 5.45g/t gold from 43m and 3m at 12.9g/t gold from 54m; 6m at 4.19g/t gold from 130m; and 5m at 3.1g/t gold from 55m.

Kin noted these RC results follow on from aircore drilling hits at the prospect earlier this year.

The results also confirm mineralisation over 500m of strike at Eagle and two zones of 400m each at Crow.

Mineralisation at Eagle-Crow has been described as similar to other significant deposits within the Cardinia project including Bruno-Lewis and Kyte.

Kin managing director Andrew Munckton said the Eagle-Crow area was showing “great promise”.

“This is the first deeper RC drilling below the encouraging aircore intercepts reported earlier this year, and we are very encouraged by the results.”

“Drilling has clearly demonstrated the potential for multiple zones of shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation which require further drilling to confirm their geometry and continuity and lay the foundations for future resource estimation.”

Mr Munckton added the area hosted “clear potential” for additional deposits that would add to resource inventory for mining.

Cardinia Hill

Over at the Cardinia Hill deposit, step out drilling has extended known mineralisation ahead of a resource upgrade.

Latest assays from this drilling included 5m at 5.11g/t gold from 56m.

Mr Munckton said the step-out drill results at Cardinia Hill were encouraging and highlighted what appeared to be a third high-grade shoot.

“This information will be incorporation in the pending resource upgrade for Cardinia Hill, which is expected to be completed next month,” he added.

The resource will add to wider global resources for Cardinia of 1.23 million ounces of contained gold.

Exploration at other targets

While advancing Cardinia, Kin is also continuing diamond drilling at the Fouracre nickel sulphide target about 60km north of Leonora.

This program is expected to wind up in two weeks.

Meanwhile, a second phase of aircore drilling at the Mt Flora prospect has included 268 holes for 10,763m.

The program was aiming to firm up extensions to the earlier results of 22m at 8.96g/t gold from 42m.

Aircore drilling was also completed at Iron King and followed up on results from the phase one program and the historic open pit that produced 5,600oz gold at 9g/t.
