Forrestania Resources (ASX: FRS) has successfully expanded the known mineralisation at the Ada Ann prospect within its Bonnie Vale project located in Western Australia’s prolific Eastern Goldfields district.

The company has now received 1-metre results from the second phase of drilling at Ada Ann, which have returned consistent geological structures.

The results have helped extend the mineralisation footprint by approximately 60m south and 30m north of the historical mineralisation, with the zone remaining open at depth and along strike in both directions.

Follow-up drilling

The latest program aimed to follow up on the strong, consistent, high-grade gold results from the maiden drilling program at Ada Ann.

Forrestania will now focus its attention on drilling at the Lady Lila prospect, while continuing analysis and planning for further drilling at Ada Ann and the broader Bonnie Vale project.

The company is hopeful it can extend the mineralisation in both directions and increase the strike extent even further.

Highest intercept to date

The latest results include the highest intercept Forrestania has drilled so far at Ada Ann.

“These 1m results are highly significant, with grades up to 26 grams per tonne of gold underlining the high-grade potential of the system,” chair John Hannaford said.

“Pleasingly, we are seeing some thickening of the mineralised zones at depth.”

Nearby historical hole

The company has also identified a significant nearby reverse circulation hole that was never followed up.

Located within an area of shallow historical workings, the hole returned highly anomalous composite values including 4m at 0.3 grams per tonne gold from 0m, 4m at 0.1g/t gold from 4m and 4m at 0.1g/t gold from 32m.

Forrestania says the lack of evidence suggesting any historic drilling has ever taken place along strike to the north of the company’s recent program also highlights the opportunity to increase the mineralisation strike length.
