Flynn Gold (ASX: FG1) has gained further confidence in the upside of its Trafalgar prospect at Golden Ridge after receiving high-grade assay results from its Phase 4 program at the northeast Tasmanian project.

Recently completed diamond drilling has confirmed the continuity of mineralisation across multiple structures, particularly within the Trafalgar Main Zone.

High-grade gold hits at the Trafalgar Main, Magazine and South zones, featured highlight intersections in separate holes of 0.3 metres at 16.1 grams per tonne from 47.7m, 0.7m at 15.7g/t from 162.5m and 0.3m at 12.9g/t from 297.9m.

Systematic Drilling Plans

Chief executive officer Neil Marston said the company plans to follow up the new assays with systematic drilling and modelling as it continues to understand the additional high-grade gold resource within Golden Ridge.

“The latest drilling at Trafalgar has delivered further strong gold intercepts, reinforcing the high-grade nature and endowment of the Trafalgar system and improving our understanding of the mineralisation controls.”

The additional data will allow Flynn to refine its structural interpretation to guide the company’s next phase of exploration drilling.

“These results re-affirm the significant scale potential at Trafalgar and support our broader strategy of advancing multiple high-quality gold prospects across the Golden Ridge Project,” Mr Marston added.

Model Refinement

The upcoming activities at Trafalgar will include refinement of Flynn’s geological and structural models, with the company looking to incorporate the new data and updated interpretations to improve its understanding of the complex hornfels zone.

Flynn will then designate a number of follow-up drill-holes to test the open zones of mineralisation between existing holes along strike and at depth, and assess the data to inform the company’s planning for a maiden mineral resource estimate.

Flynn will continue to advance Trafalgar toward delineating a high-grade gold resource within the broader Golden Ridge project, where the company has already unveiled a exploration target of up to 520,000 contained ounces.

Grenadier Program Underway

Elsewhere, Flynn commenced maiden diamond drilling at its Grenadier prospect, located approximately 9km away at the opposite end of a large gold anomaly.

The first hole in the program is investigating the down-dip extension of a trench, where six samples of an initial bulk sample test have returned an average grade of 10.5g/t.

“Grenadier represents a largely untested gold system defined by a broad 1km by 1km gold-in-soil anomaly,” Mr Marston said.

“Trenching over gold-in-soil anomalies has proven to be an extremely effective and efficient discovery tool at Golden Ridge and our ongoing campaign [at Grenadier] aims to unlock further potential across this system and generate additional drill targets.”
