Flynn Gold (ASX: FG1) is planning to accelerate the growth of its 100%-owned Golden Ridge Project in north-east Tasmania after unveiling a maiden JORC-compliant exploration target for the Trafalgar, Brilliant and Link Zone prospects.

The company’s initial exploration target estimate for these prospects ranges from 3.5 to 5.4 million tonnes, grading at between 3 and 4 grams per tonne gold for 449,000 ounces to 520,000oz of contained gold.

Managing director and chief executive officer Neil Marston said Flynn plans to rapidly grow the initial exploration target calculation and develop a ‘ridge-wide’ exploration target.

Gold-in-soil anomalies

The company’s future programs will focus on investigating gold-in-soil anomalies through trenching and drilling and expanding soil sampling coverage across the interior of the granodiorite and along the northern contact, which remains unexplored to date.

Mr Marston said the exploration target is open in all directions and represents less than 30% of the known strike of the 9-kilometre anomaly that defines the gold mineralised system at Golden Ridge.

The company has already commenced diamond drilling at the Link Zone, testing extensions of known gold-vein mineralisation along strike and down-dip of the historic Golden Ridge adit, with further drilling planned to expand the exploration target and convert it to a mineral resource.

“There is potential to significantly increase the tonnage and grade at Golden Ridge with infill and expansion drilling, which will be a major focus for the company during 2025,” Mr Marston said.

Exploration upside

The combined exploration target only encompasses areas where Flynn has drill-tested vein mineralisation and does not include areas of anomalous soil geochemistry that the company considers to be highly prospective for gold mineralisation and intends to drill-test in the future.

To date, the drill-tested Trafalgar, Brilliant, and Link Zone prospects define a significant zone of gold mineralisation extending over a strike length of approximately 3km.

Flynn has identified potential gold vein extensions at Trafalgar and Brilliant that were not included in the exploration target calculation.

Work is currently in progress to infill these areas with soil sampling and trenching prior to exploration drill-testing.
