Building management specialist EPX (ASX: EPX) has won a $5 million, seven-year contract to supply its EDGE cloud technology platform to 10 healthcare facilities across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

EPX signed the contract with RAFED Healthcare Supplies, the wholly-owned subsidiary of a leading UAE-based company specialising in hospital and healthcare property worldwide.

RAFED will use the EDGE technology to lower energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions at each of its facilities, as well as provide accurate sustainability data to the site owners.

Rigorous and Intensive Process

EPX chief executive officer John Balassis said the tender process was rigorous and extensive with many competing parties participating.

“We have been investing in the UAE for several years and believe we have built a good presence in the market,” he said.

The new contract will leverage EPX’s recent building accreditations in the UAE with ESCO (Energy Supply Company) and BEMAS (Building Energy Management).

“We welcome the opportunity to deliver our EDGE building efficiency platform to a leading UAE healthcare entity and we look forward to a productive partnership as they pursue their sustainability and cost efficiency targets,” Mr Balassis added.

Cost and Emission Reductions

EDGE cloud technology platform delivers energy cost and greenhouse gas emissions reduction in commercial real estate with control capability to manage critical energy and infrastructure assets.

The rapidly deployable platform identifies operational inefficiencies, building performance and maintenance improvements and carbon dioxide (equivalent) reduction opportunities as well as auditable insights delivering an average 21% reduction in energy consumption.

It is also able to provide customers with immediate visibility and automation without the need for full system overhauls.

EDGE currently collects data on building management systems, metering and broad operations from more than 700 buildings across a portfolio of more than 7.5 million square metres portfolio in over 25 countries.
