Rumble Resources ASX RTR drilling Earaheedy Project zinc lead

At Rumble Resources’ 75%-owned Earaheedy project, drilling returned 11m at 3.35% zinc, 0.78% lead and 12.78g/t silver.

New drill results from the Earaheedy zinc joint venture project near Wiluna in Western Australia have significantly expanded the mineralised footprint of the Tonka-Navajoh prospect for partners Zenith Minerals (ASX: ZNC) and Rumble Resources (ASX: RTR).

Assays from a further 46 reverse circulation holes for total 7,450 metres confirmed strong zinc-lead grades as well as continuity of mineralisation, remining open along strike and down dip.

Highlights at Tonka (now merged with the Magazine target) were 20m at 4.27% zinc-lead and 3.71 grams per tonne silver from 112m, including 8m at 6.75% zinc-lead and 5.2g/t silver from 117m; 12m at 4.41% zinc-lead and 0.91g/t silver from 67m, including 6m at 5.54% zinc-lead and 1.13g/t silver from 72m; and 19m at 1.88% zinc-lead and 2.37g/t silver from 143m, including 5m at 5.09% zinc-lead and 5.12g/t silver from 143m.

While best results at Navajoh were 17m at 4.79% zinc-lead and 4.25g/t silver from 170m, including 4m at 8.31% zinc-lead and 5.38g/t silver from 170m, and 7m at 5.62% zinc-lead and 5.3g/t silver from 179m; 12m at 4.48% zinc-lead and 5.26g/t silver from 152m, including 6m at 6.51% zinc-lead and 7.1g/t silver from 152m; and 23m at 2.45% zinc-lead and 1.18g/t silver from 176m to end of hole, including 3m at 7.52% zinc-lead and 1.89g/t silver from 181m.

Mineralisation from the Chinook-Tonka-Navajoh target areas is now believed to extend over 18km of strike within the joint venture landholding.

Strong results

Zenith chief executive officer Mick Clifford was pleased with the strong results.

“The results infer we have the likelihood of continuous zinc-lead mineralisation extending from Chinook in the northwest all the way through to Tonka-Navajoh in the southeast, over a distance of some 18km,” he said.

“We can now see the scale of the system being uncovered a very exciting development, especially as we see the price of zinc surging through $5,600/tonne.”

He said the joint venture considered it “high likely” that the Tonka-Navajoh mineralisation would merge into “one very large prospect” with further scoping drilling.

Tonka-Navajoh discovery

A zone of zinc-lead-silver mineralisation was discovered at Tonka in December, 8km southeast of the Chinook prospect, during exploration drilling to test the wider potential of the joint venture ground.

The mineralisation style is flat lying near surface (similar to Chinook) and previous results include 22m at 4.27% zinc-lead and 5.4g/t silver from 110m; and 10m at 3.93% zinc-lead and 4.34g/t silver from 84m.

The Navajoh discovery, located 4km southeast of Tonka, hosts flat lying zinc-lead-silver sulphide mineralisation.

Previous results have included 5m at 6.38% zinc-lead and 6.3g/t silver from 123m; 3m at 6.15% zinc-lead and 10.63g/t silver from 132m; and 4m at 4.18% zinc-lead and 3.57g/t silver from 106m.
